The growth and spread of communications technologies on the Internet have given access to services wich was not possible in the past . Due to the internet, a service can be providedon a massive scale, and the distance between the client and the service provider is not an inconvenient in many bussines models.
One of these services is tutoring, where the contact between thetutor and student was essential, but now, in a business model like tutor.com is possible in a remote way. However this is a service provided via web, so the tutor should take into account threetopics that differ respect to face tutoring. These aspects include:
1.How to check how much the student knows
2.There is not visual contact between the student and tutor.
3.The time is a limitingfactor.
Now, i am goign to describe how you can adapt the traditional way of making tutorials, in order to do it on internet.
1.) How to check how much the student knows: When you make anin-person tutoring is easy to detect the student's level of knowledge and the doubts about a specific topic. This can be identified by how the question is done, by the joint review of previous notes orexercises from the student's class. Since this is not possible into the on-line tutoring, the tutor should have an initiative to identify in a explicit way, how much the knows through questions like,What do you think about this problem?,Have you solved similar examples in class? .It's very important this check ,because if the topic is not clear for the student, maybe the student doesn't knowexactly what is the question or exercise to solve.
