Resumen

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación fue determinar el rendimientoacadémico percibido de los estudiantes universitarios y conocer
si existe relación con las variables sexo, carrera y semestre,
así como la relación con el promedio y la satisfacción con su
carrera. El instrumento constó de 26 ítems, 11 de tipo
sociodemográfico, ocho para medir la satisfacción del
universitario con su carrera y siete para medir el rendimiento
percibido; todas estas medidas en unaescala ordinal de seis
puntos. Se utilizaron las pruebas bivariadas r de Pearson, rho
de Spearman, t para muestras independientes y el Análisis de la
Varianza para un solo factor. Se encontró relación entre la
variable rendimiento con el semestre (rho = -0.190, sig. = 0.009),
también existe evidencia de la asociación con la variable sexo (t
= -2.751, sig.= 0.007), así como correlación directa ymoderada
con la satisfacción con la carrera (r = 0.444, sig. = 0.000) y
asociación con la variable promedio (r = 0.525, sig.= 0.000). Se
concluye que las variables sexo y semestre explican la variable
rendimiento académico percibido por el alumno, al igual que lo
hacen las variables promedio numérico obtenido y satisfacción
del mismo con su carrera elegida.

The objective of this research was todetermine the perceived
academic achievement by university students to see if there is a
relationship among the variables of sex, career and semester and
the relationship to the grade point average and the satisfaction
they feel with their career. The instrument used consisted of 26
items, 11 socio-demographic, 8 to measure the satisfaction with
their university career and 7 to measure the perceivedacademic
achievement, all these variables measured on an ordinal scale of
6 points. Bivariate tests were used such as Pearson’s r, Spearman
rho, t for independent samples and analysis of variance for a
single factor. It was found that a relationship between the variable
academic achievement with the semester (rho = -0190, sig. =
0.009), there was also evidence of association with the sex
variable (t= 2751, sig .= 0.007) and moderate direct correlation
with career satisfaction (r = 0.444, sig. = 0.000) and an association
with the variable of the grade point average (r = 0.525, sig .=
0.000). Thus it is concluded that sex and socio-demographic
variables explain the variable academic achievement perceived
by the student, as well as the grade point average variables
obtained and the students’satisfaction with their chosen career.

Introducción

L

as universidades en México, dentro de sus compromisos de generar egresados preparados
para su entorno, hacen esfuerzos, entre otros, porestablecer cuáles son los factores que
determinan el rendimiento del estudiante. La Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, a
través de la Secretaria Académica (Nieto, 2007), el Instituto de Ciencias Educativas y las comisiones
curriculares (UASLP, 2007) de cada licenciatura, han emprendido acciones para que los programas
