The most important piece of advice that I would give to visitors coming to my country is to visit the most well-known places and taste the Colombian cuisine.
Colombia is a modern nation, with aninfrastructure that takes advantage of its natural resources and its people to inspire love in its tourists. It has a special location in the continent, featuring the beautiful Andes mountains, as wellas glaciers, beaches, plains, mountains, jungles and deserts.
For example visitors could visit Amazonas, with the mightiest river and the largest tropical jungle in the world. It is also a publictreasure. Bogota is the capital of Colombia. It is located in the center of the country on an extensive plain at 2.600 meters on the level of the sea and a moderate temperature between 10 to 18C. It has apopulation of nearly eight million, from all the corners of Colombia. Bogota is a city as diverse as the entire country. The prestigious newspaper city The New York Times identified Bogota as oneof the 31 destinations to visit in 2010. It is an inspiring city, with a rich history. Cartagena is known for its history of pirates as well as its golden beaches, architecture, night life and food.It is the favorite destination of the travelers. Another destination of travelers is the triangle of the Coffee. Caldas, Quindío and Risaralda shape the triangle of the coffee. It is called thetriangle of the coffee because it is where the best coffee in the world is born. Santander offers excellent natural scenes for lovers of the extreme sports and the ecotourism.
Visitors who travel to theseinteresting places should taste the great Colombian food, the principal ingredients of Colombian cuisine are: Pork, potatoes, beans, corn, chicken, rice and soups. It is a cooking mixture of indigenousand Spanish ingredients. It is influenced by Árabe, African and Spanish.
