Content Management Systems and WEB Positioning.

To start this work before it would be interesting to know what tools are known as Content Management Systems, for its acronym in English (CMS). Such systems are used for the creation of Web pages and Web applications, but also the creation of its main characteristic is that since the environment allows updating, maintenance and improvement ofsites, in an easy and accessible for Webmasters and users with little expertise in the WEB.

All these CMS tools, they come to change the concept of creating pages and websites, which was a task-oriented managers of the site and was transformed into a complicated and laborious work, but will have the right tools, in addition to the economic aspect involved in this task.

The concept of CMS, is toprovide development environments that can be used both by users with expertise in Web pages as without them and allowing them to really concentrate on the content of their pages and sites. Offering further define the site structure and layout of your pages, using modules and pre-programmed functions that can be added to the site. Another aspect to take into account and provide us with the CMS, isthe economic aspect. We can say that there are powerful business tools and therefore carry the same cost for use, but we can also mention that there are free tools and open source, with very powerful features like business tools. Examples of CMS tools, free-form are: Joomla, Mambo, Drupal, phpnuke among the most used and there are constantly evolving.

All these free tools, CMS, are handledthrough the use of communities, both for consultation and support, giving the user a great help with homework and projects. With the disadvantage that the documentation on these tools is not very abundant.

With all these positive features of the CMS in a free, it is difficult to determine which tool is better than another. What if we can make here is that each has particular characteristics, whichmay help the trustee with respect to its technical necessity. Another aspect to take into account when defining a tool to use is the ease of use in your development environment, at least at this point I had to use two reference platforms. Which is why I take it that the tool over your Joomla Drupal counterpart, is more focused on end-user friendly and has a little experience with Webtechnologies, you can do interesting things that will be reflected on your site immediately. While Drupal, I think that the user or administrator must have a close or at least knowledge of HTML tags, except that their environment is not as friendly with respect to other tools. But we can also save this tool, which absorb a little more structure in the user experience becomes a very powerful tool that has aconsiderable amount of pre-programmed modules and install them to your project and give much more functionality your sites.

As we can see, it becomes a complicated issue to determine what tool is better and what should be used, but what is recommended and even many forums with reference to certain communities of free CMS tools, is that it is a through the experience to decide which tool is betterto integrate your needs and much more right to your skills.

Standardization initiatives.

Within the CMS portals, there has been standardization of processes leading to the homogenization of programming interfaces on the same so that a service developed a portal to be enforceable in any other website compatible with the standard. The aim is to avoid development of interoperable portalsowners.
The two most important are the Portlet API Specification JSR-168 Content Repository API and JSR-170.

Advantages and Opportunities.

The content manager provides access to the publication of content to a wider range of users. Enables non-programmers users can index content on the portal.

It also enables dynamic management of users and permissions, the collaboration of multiple users...
