I think that advancements in technology are very much to the benefit of students and teachers in the educational setting. A professor can only cover so much content inthe classroom. The web, however, enables the professor to easily keep contact with students that need more help or want supplementary knowledge (such as information thatfalls slightly outside of what the curriculum of the class will cover) via services such as e-mail and messengers. Furthermore, the web enables students that arethirsty for more knowledge to use search engines and trusted institutional websites to find endless amounts of information on any given topic. These websites also hosttutorials and forums where students can find more help. Likewise, teachers can also find use in these resources to reinforce their knowledge on specific subtopics that studentsmay be curious about.

Another technology which benefits both the teachers and students is the smart board. Sometimes, complex topics are better taught or expressedthrough mediums other than spoken word or writing. At times, a video, presentation, or website may be a more effective way through which the professor can teach the classa topic. Smart boards allow you to showcase these mediums to the class with ease. Smart boards also enable professors to easily highlight areas of importance during anygiven presentations via touch controls. If a smart board is not present in the classroom, a projector and computer set up is very effective as well.

Overall, thesetechnologies enhance the amount of knowledge that students can learn, and enable professors to more seamlessly and effectively articulate subject matter to a class.
