The Apartheid
The apartheid was one of the most famous cases of discrimination around the world. It happens in South Africa, in the 19th century, more specifically around the years of 1944 to 1994.Here black people were separated from the white men, with the excuse, of improving the life of both races and reduce the tension between them. It was claim by governors and the press of the countrythat black people have all the tools for a respectful development, but of course we now know this wasn’t true.
For example, black people were forced to have with them their papers at all time, ifnot, it was enough reason to leave them in jail. Also they cannot sit on benches on the bus stops in their own country because they were also reserved for white men.
But this was just the beginning,when black and white people live in some way not that separated. Because, later, black people were separated in groups of communities, far more separated, and only have contact with white man as slaves.Color people does not agree with the way they were being treated by the government, and this was evident at 11th April 1952, when the first protest meeting occurred in Johannesburg, Called by theAfrican national congress, the most important African organization in the union.
In 1990 the massive movilization started, without violence, against the most repressive laws. They didn’t want to givethe government any reason to make this petition for equal rights a historical massacre.
