About me and my family.
Hi, my name is Luis Flores and I’m thirty one years old. I live with my mom and two of my sisters, my dad is living in Sweden with my half-siblings. I have a sweet littledaughter too, She’s six years old and her name is Amy Nicole, She is the most valuable gift I received from God.
A few years ago, I decided to study Computers at Centroamerican University (UCA) and Iachieved my Bachelor Degree in 2007, then I continue my education and I achieved my MBA degree in 2010 at National University of El Salvador. Nowadays, I’m studying a teacher training course at DonBosco University in Antiguo Cuscatlán in order to get more skills and tools for my computer classes.
About my job with young people.
Our program tries to help young people by giving them a differentperspective to what their use to and by showing them the education is the path for a successful life and a better income, something that our population need at this moment. Now I can say that ourformer students have the tools, the skills and the knowledge to become a very successful people just by believing in them when they were only fourteen or fifteen years old. I become part of Oportunidades’Staff since 2008 and now I have four years teaching, so since this time I taught computers to young people for helping to improve their lives.
Please explain your work with Youth during the lastfive years
As I wrote before, I teach computers to young people who lives in poverty at the urban areas of San Salvador. This kind of job makes me feel more empathy for this families and I become to avolunteer in one of the most famous ngo named Un Techo para mi País (A roof for my country) where I participated in many camps building temporary wood-made houses.
Before this job at Oportunidades, Iwas just a volunteer in this ngo and I was in charge of giving to our communities in several towns the workshops of how to invest their money or how to raise or to make grow up their small...
