LOS FUNDAMENTOS ANATÓMICOS BÁSICOS PARA EL ÉXITO DEL TRATAMIENTO EN PRÓTESIS TOTALES

RESUMEN El propósito del estudio fue explicar los fundamentos anatómicos básicos para el éxito del tratamiento en prótesis totales, debido a que si las dentaduras y los tejidos bucales de soporte van a tener que coexistir por un tiempo razonablemente prolongado, el odontólogo y los estudiantesdeben entender por completo la anatomía macroscópica y microscópica de las estructuras tanto de soporte como limitantes involucrados, porque ambas son básicas como áreas de soporte de dentaduras. Para ello se realizó un estudio de tipo Documental, en la modalidad de Compendio Temático, se llevo a cabo una revisión bibliográfica detallada, donde se obtuvo una descripción de todas lascaracterísticas anatómicas que se pueden encontrar en el maxilar superior y mandíbula de los pacientes que acuden a la consulta odontológica para recibir un tratamiento de prótesis total unimaxilar o bimaxilar; y que comprometen de una u otra manera el éxito o el fracaso de todo tratamiento protésico. El interés de ahondar sobre este tema, es poder ofrecerle a los estudiantes y odontólogos no especialistas unaguía referente a los elementos anatómicos que deben considerar para ofrecerles a sus pacientes edéntulos totales una buena alternativa de tratamiento, a pesar de que en la actualidad existen novedosas alternativas para estos pacientes, no todos tienen el poder adquisitivo para llevarlos a cabo. ABSTRACT The intention of the study wasto explain basic the anatomical foundations for the success of the treatment in total prosthetic, because if the sets of teeth and the buccal weaves of support are going to have to coexist by a reasonably prolonged time, the dentistry and the students must as much understand completely the macroscopic and microscopic anatomy of the involved structures of support as limits, because both are basiclike areas of set of teeth support. For it a study of Documental type was made, in the modality of Thematic Compendium, where I am carried out a detailed bibliographical revision, where it obtained a description of all the anatomical characteristics that can be found in superior maxilar and jaw of all the patients who go to the consultations to receive a treatment of total prosthetic to unimaxilaror to bimaxilar; and that jeopardizes of one or another way the success or the failure of all prosthetics treatment. The interest to go deep on this subject, is to be able to offer to him to the students and dentistry no specialist a guide referring to the anatomical elements that must consider to offer to their total edéntulos patients a good alternative to them of treatment, because although atthe present time novel alternatives for these patients exist, all do not have the spending power to carry out them. INTRODUCCIÓN Existe una marcada tendencia en prótesis completas a dejar de lado o concederle escasa importancia al estudio clínico del desdentado total. Escomún comprobar en los profesionales que el único estudio que requiere un paciente de esta naturaleza, es un rápido examen para determinar la posible presencia de restos radiculares.
