The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) is an entity that manages "acomparative study that evaluates the knowledge, skills and attitudes of students aged 15 in Math, Science, and Reading. Each cycle of PISA, applied three times a year since1997, has a different emphasis. In 2006 the focus was in science. In 2009 will be in Reading and Mathematics in 2012. Participation in the various cycles makes it possible forcountries to make progress up the education system.
Study Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) "is intended to measure trends in studentperformance in fourth and eighth graders in math and science. Both areas are critical.
To develop in children and youth skills related to problem solving and rigorous thinkingand critical. In addition, TIMSS monitors the implementation of curricula in these areas and identifies good teaching practices to contribute to the improvement of teachingand learning processes. The unique feature of these three institutions have enabled us to relate the results to the serious deficit problem we face in our nationaleducational system, which we can argue that because of the huge gap between social classes in our country access at least basic education is an odyssey of money, it does notpromote economic development but the owners of the means of production, leaving no alternative to the favored classes men so arise. We add the spicy ingredient and harmful tosociety such as corruption and indifference by the government to take responsibility for problems.
