Atlantis, a city of dremas

A city of dreams, increadible arquitecture, a massive navy , atlantis is thought to be one of the most advanced society of the ancient world .Then without worn itliterally vanished over the night ,an extraordinary civilitzation lost forever but his memeory is not soon forgotten , the island utopia destroied by a cataclism has inspired books, movies, comics, tvshows, and yet the misteri lives on! my guests welcome to Atlantis !


PLATO'S ISLAND OF ATLANTIS

Plato, Timaeus 24e - 25d (trans. Bury) (Greek philosopher C4th B.C.) :

who’s idea was Atlantis?Atlantis is first mentioned in Plato's dialogues Timaeus and Critias, written about 360 BC.".

After a failed attempt to invade Athens, Atlantis sank into the ocean "in a single day and night ofmisfortune

Plato describes the Atlantians as great engineers and architects. There were palaces, harbors, temples and docks. The capital city was built on a hill and surrounded by rings of water, largeenough for a ship to sail through. A huge canal connected the outer rings of water to the ocean. On the outskirts of the capital city there were huge fields where farmers grew the city's food. Pastthe field there were mountains where wealthy villagers lived.

And plato also gives us directions, according to plato Atlantis was lying "in front of the Pillars of Hercules" .

was the phrase that was applied in Antiquity to the coolumns that flank the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar. The northern Pillar was on the Rock of Gibraltar and , the location of thesouthern Pillar has been disputed through history with the most likely candidate being Jebel Musa in Morocco.

Could Atlantis have existed as an actualcountry?  the answer could be yes.  Is it likely that Atlantis really existed exactly as described in Plato’s writings? The answer is likely to be no.
