Abstract

During the accomplishment process that we have made to complete our design we had to investigate, to inquire and ask to different people forobtain the necessary information that will allow us to complete in an effective way our band-pass filter. First we occurred to the task of investigate about a band-pass filter, we looked for information and we asked different professors who clarified our doubts on the information which we had obtained through books and internet web pages. Of all this we learned that the function of a band-pass filteris to pass a certain type of frequency rank and attenuates the passage of the rest. We soon decided to design the band-pass filter with passive elements only, and we chose a design of an inductor, a capacitor and a resistor in series of values 47 mH, 4.7μF and 91Ω respectively. This circuit works in a way so that the capacitor and the inductor store energy and when this energy arrives to themaximum point the resistor take the action of discharge this energy, creating a resonance in series which will repeat because all the circuit is connected in a cycle.

Background: Theory and Literature Survey
The motive of this final project is to create a band-pass filter. For our specific design we decide to create a passive band-pass filter because we don’t have all theknowledge necessary to assemble, use and understand the function of an active circuit. The three passive elements that we usually use are the resistor, inductor and the capacitor, those are exactly the elements that we use in ours band-pass filter design.
The resistance is the opposition that presents an element to the circulation of the electric current in the circuit, this element is measure in Ohms(Ω), the capacitor is assembled by an amount of parallel metallic plates separated by an insulating material. The accumulation of the electric charges between the plates create a potential difference over the capacitor and the relation between the electrics charges accumulated over the capacitor it is a constant denominated C = Q/V, where Q is the charge and V is the voltage, the capacitor is aelement that have the capacity to store energy in the way of an electric field, this is proportional to the tension between the plates and proportionally inverse to the distance between them, the capacitor is measure in Faradays (F).
Finally, the inductance is formed by coil wire because the magnetic field around a conductor is weak, so to take advantage of this energy, we have to coil a wire so...
