Black
Only the steps of the lonely knight could be heard in the blinding darkness that was built inside of the puzzling tunnel. Black, the name that was given to the knight, common for a bastards name in his kingdom, a mistake that is regretted by his father every day when he was desperate in a campaign away 2000 miles away from home for 3 years, Black which represents thediscriminating filth that is adultery always tormenting the thoughts of a bastard child. He sought to bring honor back to his name, the only thing that cannot be taken away from him.
The objective was simple, go into the forsaken castle and retrieve the treasure that’s hidden in the tallest tower, never been seen by anyone. A secret that not even the wisest maesters of the kingdom knowwhat lies in it. That was his goal, and Black knew that it would free him from his name, his curse.
As Black crept deeper into the tunnel, the darkness only became deeper, and the noise of his moving plate armor with the steps of metal hitting rock became much more familiar in his mind. He was afraid he was lost, for many brave knights, stronger than him, have become already lostin the Tunnels of Ethranille, tunnels that were built by two lovers that were separated by the hate between their father’s two kingdoms. The tunnels were the answer to their love, a secret way for them to meet and show their love towards each other. But the princes’ Castle was destroyed by a mighty dragon, which still lies in the lowest pits of the fortress, and as the fortress fell, so did bothof the princes’, for that night the prince, brave and young went into the princes’ room and made love to her in secret. And so the tunnels were abandoned, like the princes’ that died.
A light breath of sulfur penetrated the smell of cold hard steel, and came into Black’s nose. He turned left, and saw a faint, moving red line far away. Walking closer he began to feel warmer, a loudsudden crack echoed in the tunnel. Black knew he had made it, he also knew of the dangers that lurked in the deep dark.
Slowly stepping cautious of where each steel boot landed on the ground. It began to become hotter; Black knew what the red line which he crept closer too was now. Lava, the only thing that could get him out, without taking the risk of walking without a hint of sight, sightthat is so valuable to him now. Black had lost familiarity with light. He could not remember anymore when the last time he had seen any kind of light was. It was a hunger to him because no man can live without light or heat, and the past three days for him were all in the Tunnels of Ethranille. He could see the red line get longer, and the heat became more familiar as he got closer, for him the heatwas like a hug from a mother after her child was lost for days. He welcomed the heat, and became more comfortable with it.
“Crack”, a sound echoed across the dark of the tunnels, only this time… it was not Black who made it. For the first time, Black was scared, terrified, the fact the he could not see what was in there with him and knowing the sound came from close by absolutely shivered him.He gripped his sword firmly with his hand and waited to see if he heard something else that could guide him to where the first sound came from. He knew that the tunnels were so quiet that even the faintest needle that fell on the ground would be heard at least for half a mile, so there he was, waiting in the dark.
For ten minutes Black stood frozen in the dark, knowing that something waswatching him carefully. There it was… a breath, the sound he was looking for. It was not a familiar breath though, more like the breath of an old man with a cold, a slight wheezing to it. It was coming from right in front of him, yet the darkness was so strong he could not see from what it came. He remembered the stream of lava that he was walking towards, he could still see it in the far end of his...
