Breakfast

By Tuesday next week it will be a month that we Internationals student As we are very interested in American culture, we thought that carrying out a survey about American breakfast habits could be agood start to get to know the domestic students- what is better that starting by figuring out their lifestyle from the moment they wake up? Even if it doesn’t look like, this topic could get reallybroad, so we decided to narrow our research and investigate some specific questions and after making a brainstorm we picked up four of them. We were first wondering how many students are actuallyhaving breakfast. Then, we thought it could be useful to know the place they are taken breakfast at. Finally, we were also interested in knowing what they like the most and compare that with what they areactually having. In order to apply the research to cultural differences, I will be comparing the results of every question with what I think it is the common breakfast style in my country.
As one ofthe key factors of this kind of statistical research is to be accurate, nearly 40 of us Internationals were asking around the campus. We live in different dorms, we have many different friends(regarding the year of the study or their major) and all that gives us a better perspective of what is really going on and a more precise data.
How many students are actually having breakfast?
Accordingto the results obtained by group 4, almost 70% of the students are having something for breakfast after waking up, opposite to the 30% that go to class without having anything in their stomach. On theother hand, group 7 states that according to their information, more people decide not to take breakfast (40%), while 61% do. Taking into account that the first group mentioned made the survey asking40 people less, we tend to believe that group 7’s results are more precise. From those who have affirmed having breakfast, a 22% does it at the dining hall and 47% in their dorms.
