BUSINESS CONTROL

Of the four management principles (plan, organize, direct, control), business or management controls keep your organization on course. Controls provide a continuous loop to ensureeveryone within the organization stays focused on strategic goals and operates within financial, operational and safety constraints .

SOME DEFINITIONS:

* Henry Fayol: the control consists inverifying if everything occurs according to the plans. With the control we can identify the mistakes to correct them.

* Robert Eckles: The regulation of activities in accordance with a plandesigned to achieve certain objectives.

* Chiavenato : It´s the phase of the administrative process the measures and evaluates performance and takes corrective actions when we need . In this way, control is essentially a regulatory process .

FEATURES:

1. Strategic orientation: The control should support strategic plans and focus on activities that difference the organization.

2.Understanding: The control should support the decision making process agreed by presenting data in understandable terms. The control should avoid misleading reports.

3. Flexibility: The control mustprovide the individual trial that can be changed to adapt to new situations.

4. Self-control: The control must provide reliability, good communication and participation of the involved people.
5.Clarity and Objectivity: The control must be impartial and accurate at all . Its main purpose is performance improvement .

PRINCIPLES

• Balance: For each charge, we should give the just degreeof control. Similarly,
the authority is delegated and the responsibility is shared.

• Opportunity: The control must be opportune. It must be applied before the mistake is made, so it is possibleto take a corrective action early.

• Objectives: This refers to that control must be based on the objectives, namely, control is not an end, because it is an instrument to get predeterminated...
