1. What is the structure of McDonald’s? Do a drawing. McDonald’s is a chain of fast-food restaurants. It is divided into a lot of stores and franchises that depend on the main company. These storesand franchises are around the world.

2. What is a franchise? How does this work? The main company, in this case is McDonald’s buys or/and builds stores and buildings with the name of McDonald's tosell its products to earn more money than a normal main company does. This buildings that receive the name of the main company are called franchises.

3. How does the new CEO want to improve thequality of food and service? To improve service he is focusing on McDonald’s atrophied system for grading the performance of its more than 13.000 U.S restaurants and to improve the food and the service,he is finding new products like the Grilled Chicken and the fresh line of salads.

4. What does Janine Meyer means when she says: “McDonald’s knows infrastructure”? They are excellent building buildsand creating stores but they are bad generating sales gains per store. So they only know how to make benefits by building a lot of stores and making a lot of franchises. They are more similar as alandlord than as a fast-food restaurant.

5. What is the function of the restaurant-grading system? Why is it useful? What can be some of the problems created by this system? Kroc created a systemthat the principal aim was to improve the distribution of the food to save money. It was a intense system but it didn’t go on well due to Kroc’s inability to split his attention between operations andfinance. Harry Sonneborn, who was his right-hand man, find the solution, which worked brilliantly. He proposed to collect rent brought McDonald's predictable profits on stronger margins and heencouraged the kind of new-store growth that would later separate McDonald's from its peers. Moreover, there was no risk in this.
