Carneival

I’m going to write about the bullfighting carnival in two places one is “bullfighting carnival Autlan” in Jalisco, Mexico and the other is “Feria Internacional del Sol” at Merida, Venezuela. Ichoose this topic because I know the Autlan carnival and I love this kind of celebration, I have participated in the carnival since I was a girl because I’m from Union de Tula, Jalisco that is a town nearAutlan, and this experience has been great.
The Autlan carnival has been celebrated since 1831, the first carnival was held with bullfighting ten and with condition that should have ended one daybefore Ash Wednesday. With time we’re adopting new ideas to improve the party. Nowadays the celebration begins ten days before Ash Wednesday. In these ten days there are parades, rodeos, dances andformal bullfighting. Also a queen of the carnival is elected, which is always a pretty girl, and she is the image of bullfighting throughout carnival for one year. “The Autlan carnival is consideredthe best taurine carnival of the world”.
In an other part of the world the people celebrate a similar carnival like this, in Merida, Venezuela. The celebration is known as “Feria Internacional delSol”. The first celebration was in 1964. And began as it is now. The fair lasts all February. All the month there are different activities as parades, bullfights, cultural exhibitions, commercial andlivestock, concerts, sport activities and the choice of the queen of the fair. As I could tell the twocarnivals are very similar, I never imagined finding in a country like Venezuela a holiday as we celebrate here in Mexico.
I knew some carnivals, but any as the one here in Autlan, and I am pleased toknow of this carnival, maybe someday I will have the opportunity to travel and learn about this fair.
