1. GRAMMAR:

Definition: The whole system and structure of a language or of languages in general, usually taken as consisting of syntax and morphology.

Or : A set of prescriptive notions about correct use of a language.

( This is the description I founded in an internet page, and sounds pretty concise, but, to me, it´s more just a tool: It´s the essence of the language, which makes us agood speakers and makes easier communication.

2. ALPHABET.

Definition: A set of letters or symbols in a fixed order used to represent the basic set of speech sounds of a language.

( Of course, the sounds and names are different in English than Spanish and there is some letters which in Spanish exist and in English don´t.

3. VERB TO BE.

( I would say, this is the most important verb in the whole English Language. Everything begins with:

a) PERSONAL PRONOUNS.

A word used instead of a noun to indicate someone or something already mentioned or known. There are eight personalpronouns. Five for singular and three for plural.

b)PERSONAL PRONOUN WITH VERB TO BE.

You are You´re

He is He´s

She is She´s THIRD PERSON OF SINGULAR

It is It´s

We are We´re

You are You´re PLURAL

They are They´re

c) NEGATIVES.For negative form, just add “NOT” to verb TO BE.

PRONOUN VERB TO BE + NOT CONTRATIONS

I am not I´m

You are not You´re ó you aren´t

He is not He´s ó he isn´t

She is not She´s ó she isn´t

4. ARTICLES.

We know this kinds or types the article in the English language: Indefinite and definite.

(Apparently are confusing, and you have to remember many different rules and exceptions, but I have to say it´s only matter of using it, make a mistake, be corrected and…it´s done! You´ve learned it.

a) INDEFINITEARTICLES A, AN .

A and AN are called the indefinite articles and they are used to indicate something unspecific.
WHEN DO WE USE “A” OR “AN”

an organ an ice

If itstarts with a CONSONANT sound, you must use “a”.

A musician a choir a boring book a theater
