Day 1: Cuzcoto Puno by Coach On this
full-day trip you will visit remote cultural
centers, transit the altiplano, or the high
plains of the Andes Mountains and end in
Puno on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Thewell-equipped motorcoach has multilingual hostesses, a restroom and video.
You'll make stops en route at the village
of Anadahuaylillas, noted for its colonial
chapel with beautiful creolefrescoes, and
Raqchi, where a 10 km. Inca wall surrounds the temple of the god Wiracocha.
After a buffet luncheon served at La Raya, you'll make a stop at Pucara to explore the terraces, temples and sunkenpatios from the Pucara culture, which flourished around 200 B. C. (B, L)
Day 2: Puno to the Sun Island Today commences a fascinating two-day
crossing of Lake Titicaca to Bolivia. Begin with amotorcoach drive along the
western shores of Lake Titicaca to Copacabana, where you'll stop to visit
the Shrine of the Indian Virgin. Then continue your trip with a cruise on
the lake to Sun Island,legendary birthplace of the Inca Empire. You'll
visit the Pilcocaina Sun Temple before a 25-minute trek, ascending to the
Posada del Inca. Llamas will porter
your luggage for you! Lunch, dinner
andovernight on Sun Island with
magnificent views of the lake and the
snow-capped Royal Range

Day 3: Sun Island to La Paz After breakfast, you'll descend to the harbor fora hydrofoil cruise to Moon Island to visit the Temple of the Sun Virgins.
Then continue your cruise to Huatajata on the eastern shore of Lake Titicaca.
Visit the Altiplano Museum and the AndeanRoots Cultural Complex where
you will see a full size reproduction of Thor Heyerdahl's Ra II and the mortuary
towers (chullpas) from several different periods. Late afternoon motorcoach to
La Paz....
