There were many banners and flags we had in Mexico throughout history as a symbol of our country. All suffered some variations, but the February 24, 1821 was whenIturbide came up with the current flag and called the Three Guarantees. Which consists of 3 colors distributed vertically in this order starting on the pole: green, white and red.

Each color onewith a different meaning: green symbolizes the people's hope in the destiny of their race, white represents the purity of the ideals of the people and the red symbolizes the blood shed for theircountry's heroes.

In the center of the flag, the white stripe, has a shield, this shield has its origins in the hieroglyphics used by the Aztecs to represent the foundation of Techochtitlan.

The shield, like the flag, has undergone much change over time, the current consists of a Mexican eagle, with the top of the wings in an attitude of combat.
