CHRISTMAS IN MEXICO

The celebrations of Christmas in Mexico is a combination of indigenous traditions with the Spanish.
The piñata, birth, the Inn, the Kings Magi,Pastorale, Christmas dinner and Christmas carols are just some of the customs. At the end of November, the streets of the cities are decorated with Christmas ornaments, houses aredecorated by each family with lights, Christmas tree, and the birth of Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds, Angels, the donkey, cow and the manger.
In Mexico, Christmas is a veryimportant celebration. Parties start from 16 to 24 December, the tradition known as the Posadas. The Posada is a representation of what it took the Virgin Mary and Joseph forthem to give posada and give birth to the child Jesus. So a group of people walks home at home singing something like this:

Untilthey come to the House that will celebrate and accept them. There are Piñatas, food, music, games etc.
24 and 25 December. December 24 is called "Good night", and is celebratedwith the family. When they give the 12 chimes at midnight, someone Coos to baby Jesus. All family members sing carols and candles and Bengal lights turn on. Whole familymakes a request, either silently or aloud and then hugs are given and if there are gifts also.
24 Dinner can be: Stuffed Turkey, cod, romeritos (a traditional dish), shrimpbroth, leg of pork, pork loin, Apple, pasta, salad and a dessert. We take a punch without alcohol prepared with fruits of the season (sugarcane, Orange, lime).
The next day alsois fun because children open the gifts they received from Santa Claus, lunchtime all families are visited and the respective dishes that we call them overheated are changed.
