Apache
Location
Apache is a name given to a group of Indigenous Nations culturally close East of Arizona, Northwest of Mexico (North of the States of Sonora andChihuahua), New Mexico, and parts of Texas and the Great Plains.
Religion
Apache religion was not strongly structured, shamans were the religious life. Do nothave a beliefin more there, the main thing for them was survival, hence the importance of the healing rites and the absence of an extensive theology.They performed rituals related tothe cycle of life, which included the first steps of a child and the puberty ceremony.
Typical Food
Meat: The apache hunted deer, wild turkeys, hares, coyotes, wildboars, foxes, beavers, bearsand Lions mountain and, mainly, Buffalo. Buffalo hunts took place twice a year.
Nuts, seeds and fruit: Given that the apaches were notfarmers, meatbased diet is complemented with fruits, berries, nuts, seeds and wild vegetable that were.
Corn:Although the apaches were not farmers, maize, acultivated grain, was a part of theirdiet.
Traditions of the apaches
The traditions of the apaches have been transmitted from generation to generationsince long before thearrival of Cristóbal Colón in America. Many of these traditionshave changed very little. Most of the changes are due to the relocation of tribes. Insome tribes, the leaderscome to appreciate the European customs. In these tribes, it iscommon to see members wearing Western clothes, except during certain rituals.
Language: Kiowa ApacheKiowa apache language is a language spoken by the apaches of the Prairies apacheana.This indigenous people living mainly in the center of Oklahoma (United States).
