Pedagogical article - Dyslexia

I´ve found an article about special learning difficulties in the classroom, referred to the students that copy with “Dyslexia”.

Dyslexia is usuallydetected in children in early school years and is distinct from reading difficulties, resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or from pooror inadequate reading instruction.

When reading aloud, for example, people with dyslexia may reverse words or parts of words. Word order and sounds may also be confused and they mayalso reverse letters and words in written language. Mirror writing, a complete reversal of words, is sometimes present.
Making the connection between sounds and letters and spelling wordsare very difficult tasks for this students.

It´s important for them to be diagnosed by an educational specialist as soon as posible because the delay can produce a negative impact ontheir personality, self-confidence and frustation.

Teachers should implement multisensory (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic) startegies to help them to understand their tasks. They cando this working with photographs, intercative games and making students read aloud.
Teachers should also be patience because it may take a long time to a student with dyslexia to copyfrom the board; in this cases teachers should give them a photocopy with big and clear letters.
They should organise a game to introduce new vocabulary and do not correct every singlemistake the student make. The better way to give them the enough confidence is to repeat the instructions so that they can understand it.
it´s important for children with dylexia to see theirsuccess, despite the fact that at first they seem to be a bit daunting.

We, as future teachers have to integrate and demontrate the others that Dyslexia is just a different way to learn.
