RESUMEN

En este trabajo, de corte documental e histórico, se analiza o relee la
historia de la educación técnica en Venezuela desde el advenimiento de la
república hasta la decadencia postguzmancista. El paradigma de la
educación humanista implantado porlos españoles comienza a romperse
con las providencias tomadas por Simón Bolívar en plena campaña
independentista cuando funda colegios, estudios de ciencias y artes, el de
Cuzco en 1825, el de Puno en 1825; se continúan cuando los legisladores
venezolanos fortalecen los colegios nacionales con la adscripción a ellos de
las escuelas de dibujo, de náutica y pilotaje para terminar creandoinstituciones nuevas, como la escuelas agrarias, los colegios de niñas
primero en Caracas y luego en otras ciudades, la Escuela Granja de
Agronomía en 1844, la escuela de Dibujo y Pintura en 1853, la Escuela de
Artesanos en 1854, la Escuela de Artes y Oficios en1883, la Escuela
Politécnica en 1884. Los mismos colegios nacionales terminarán por incluir,
sobre todo a partir de la época de GuzmánBlanco, unidades curriculares de
las artes mecánicas y elementos de agricultura práctica. El Código de
Instrucción Pública de 1843 organiza formalmente el sistema educativo
venezolano y confiere carta de ciudadanía académica a la Educación
Técnica, las “escuelas especiales para la extensión y desarrollo de ciertos
conocimientos, con sus aplicaciones convenientes”, lo cual se repite en el
Códigode 1897

ABSTRACT
In this work, of documental and historical court, it is analyzed or rereads the
history of the technical education in Venezuela from the beginnings of the
republic until the decadence postguzmancista years. The paradigm of the
humanist education implanted by the Spaniards begins to break up with the
providences taken by Simón Bolívar in full campaign of independence
whenit founds schools, studies of sciences and arts, like Cuzco in 1825, or
Puno in 1825; they are continued when the Venezuelan legislators
strengthen the national schools with the adscription to them of the drawing
schools, nautical and to finish creating new institutions, as the agrarian
schools, the schools of girls, first in Caracas and then in other cities, the
School Farm of Agronomy in1844, the school of Drawing and Painting in
1853, the School of Artisans in 1854, the School of Arts and Occupations
en1883, the Polytechnic School in 1884. The same national schools will end
up including, mainly starting from the time of Guzmán Blanco, curricular
units of the mechanical arts and elements of practical agriculture. The Code
of Public Instruction of 1843 organizes the Venezuelaneducational system
and it confers letter of academic citizenship to the Technical Education,
those “special schools for the extension and development of certain
knowledge, with its convenient applications”, that which repeats in the
Code of 1897
