Ejercicios De Orden

Dear 8th grade students  2011-12:
Now that the school year is coming to an end, I just wanted to leave you all with a few words of wisdom and a reflection about this year.
If I pushed you to bebetter, if I made you read new books, if I made you do your homework and gave you quizzes and asked for projects, it was not because I was longing to make you lives miserable.
 
I did it because, firstof all, I knew you could do it and second, because I wanted you to learn more, to understand more, and to open your minds to the all the possibilities life has to offer you. I wanted you to work hardand do your best at the little things like: turning your work in on time, completing your tasks, following instructions, having your materials in class, being able to work in groups with others,participating in class discussions, because in the future, you will see how helpful these tools will be. If you learn to master these skills at an early age, you are already one step ahead of the pack! J 
I want you all to be able to hold your head up high and say, “I did work hard and yes it may not have been easy, but I did it and I used my own resources and my intelligence.” It was a privilegeto be your teacher and I thank you for the things you taught me. With the majority of students, we have been together for 2 years now, we have ventured to the magical Galapagos Islands together andrecently we braved the penetrating, bitter cold in the Chimborazo. I thank the heavens for the existence of each and every one of you and smile on the fact that our lives crossed paths.
 
If I taughtyou anything this year, I hope I taught you to be an honest, caring person with yourself and others. To never turn your back on people, to stand up for correct actions and denounce negative ones. Themost important lesson I hope you learned was that in certain times in your life, specific people are meant to guide you along by the hand for awhile, until the moment comes when they have to let you...
