EL ABORTO

Para conocer más acerca de este delito, debemos empezar por saberque significa la palabra ABORTO, dado que sabemos cómo se hace o los métodos que se emplean para ello.

I. CONCEPTO.

ABORTO proviene del latín abortus, que a su vez deriva del término aborior. Este concepto se utilizaba para referir lo contrario a orior, o sea, lo contrario a nacer. Por lo tanto, el aborto es la interrupción del desarrollo del feto durante el embarazo, cuando éste todavía nohaya llegado a las veinte semanas. Una vez pasado ese tiempo, la terminación del embarazo antes del parto se denomina parto pre término. (1)

Como dice Bernardo de Quiros, es una palabra latina que expresa, no con completa exactitud, la acción y el efecto de la interrupción del proceso reproductivo de la especie”. (2)
