I: Really? Where did she find it?
L:She found it at a yard sale. I really liked it and the next thing you know, I was looking for more objects.
I: What was the first thing that you bought for yourself?
L: I bought a 1943 comic book.
I:So, how many objects do you have in your collection now?
L: How many? It's hard to say... I think I have more than two thousand objects.
I: More than two thousand? Where do you keep them all?
L:That's a problem. When we were living in our New York apartment, it was getting crowded, but we moved to a house a few years ago. Now I keep most of my collection in the basement. I keep most thingsin glass cases so that my family, friends, and I can look at everything. Many things are hanging on the walls.
I: Does your family complain about all of the things that you collect?
L: Not often.Sometimes a closet opens and a lot of stuff falls out. Then it's a problem. I: So, where do you find these objects?
L: I get them from many different places. My wife and I go to yard sales,
garagesales, and toy shows. Sometimes my friends find something and give it to me. My father and my brother have gotten things for me, too. Once I even got a poster from the parking lot attendant where Ipark my car every day.
I: That's quite a collection you have. Do you have a favorite object?
L: It's hard to pick a favorite, but I really like a talking toy from 1949.
I: Is there anything inparticular that you're looking for now?
Well, there's a 1950s cookie jar that I've been looking for.
I: If I find it, I'll let you know
