The film tells the story of a group of scientists to study the behavior of humans in captivity, they propose an experiment where they hire a group of people (20 men)after a series of psychometric tests and according to the results, divided into guards and prisoners.
Thus both groups will be taken for two weeks at a physically identicalto a prison. The reward for each participant shall be two thousand dollars. During those fourteen days, thanks to CCTV, scientists can observe the relationships betweenprisoners and guards, and how interactions take place and how power struggles emerge.
Upon admission, inmates must sign a letter of acceptance where they say they know thatduring this period are likely to lose their individual rights, for its part, the guards received the task of imposing order and maintain it without further instruction.These two factors make the course of history: the signing of prisoners waiting to be abused in some way, the guards, when they know they are responsible for maintainingorder, sense that is likely to exert their power in a violent manner on the prisoners.
