Enviromental Issues

The development of new technologies such as factories, power stations and motor vehicles has brought many benefits, but at the same time pose severe environmental damages. Waste chemicals produced bythese human industries are dumped into the land or released into the water and the atmosphere. Therefore, society should have to tackle the far-reaching consequences it involves.
One of the mainproblems is the greenhouse effect which arises from the build up of CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere by the combustion of fossil fuels. Moreover, industries spew heat-trapping gases such ascarbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3) and methane (CH4) that are held inside the atmosphere keeping the temperature constant so as to maintain the planet livable.
If heat-trapping gas emissions increase,global temperatures will shift, which could provoke: stronger storms, severe droughts, and serious floods. At the same time, this alteration has bring on the meltdown of the Poles making sea levelsrise, that gives way to the flooding of low-lying coasts and the disappearance of tropical coral islands. This phenomenon known as global warming could alter the habitats of fauna and flora so quicklythat species might be unable to cope with.
However, all these environmental issues can not be solved overnight. In long term, human society will have to introduce measures. Green movements should haveto exert pressure on governments so as to raise awareness to tap alternative sources of energy, introduce more regulations so that not to disrupt the natural balance of atmosphere.
Actually, somegovernments have already started to implement different inciatives.
