This book has been made possible thanks to the generous support from the Spanish ImpactEvaluation Fund (SIEF). Launched in 2007 with a $14.9 million donation by Spain, and expanded by a $2.1 million donation from the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DfID), the SIEF is the largest trust fund focused on impact evaluation ever established in the World Bank. Its main goal is to expand the evidence base on what works to improve health, education, and social protectionoutcomes, thereby informing development policy. See http://www.worldbank.org/sief.
