US ROLE IN THE POST- FISRT WORLD WAR PERIOD

In 1913, Woodrow Wilson was elected as the 28th president of the United States. He created the third Central Bank of the United States and he promotedthe intervention and invasion of Iberoamerica.
About the First World War, he was in a neutral position until on May 7th in 1915; Germany produced the collapsed of the Britain’s ship: RMS Lusitania.Two years later, on the 2nd of April in 1917, he asked to the Congress for the intervention in the European armed conflict. And in 1918, Wilson pronounced in the Congress of his country, the 14Points with the objective of obtaining the peace. Generally, in the first three points he talked about the abolition of economic, military and commercial barriers. In the other points, he proposed sometreatments that were favorable for all the nations, so, he asked for the restitution of the sovereignty in Belgium, Poland, autonomy for Austro-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, evacuations and finally and Ithink most important, the creation of a League of Nations.
This entire list created by Wilson was useful for the creation of the Treaty of Versailles that for some people was the end of the FirstWorld War. The treaty consisted first of all in the acceptation from Germany and its allies of the moral and material responsibility of the entire war and according to some of the articles they shoulddisarm their troops and pay huge amounts of money to the “winner” powers.
The Treaty was seen by Germany as a Diktat imposed by force with no possibility of asking or participating. In fact, the Countthat was leading the German delegation said that he didn’t have the chance to negotiate anything in the treaty. Accepting the responsibility of all the damages in the war was an element of internalpolitical tension in Germany; Nationalists were against all the points of the Treaty, but, the social democratic party had the interest of “relaxing” the relations between Germany and other countries....
