Do you think that this could ever happen to you?
This story is about the life of Peter Miller, who was thirty years old, very intellingent, cultivated and of high society. He came from a bigcultivated family, too. He had done everything he had wished in life and had everything that he wanted, except for love.
One day, he was looking for a book to read in the Literature section of a nearbylibrary when he found a book that caught his attention , not for the cover, illustrations or the writer. He took it home, sat in the sofa, had a glass of whisky and started to read. He couldn’t stopreading because the story was very interesting. He told his friends about it and recommended it to them.
He was walking through a park when he saw a beautiful woman sitting in a bench. She had blueeyes, a wavy blond hair, a red and delicate mouth. She liked reading, too. Every day, Peter went to the park to admire her and make him laugh. It came the time when he invited her to go out and sheaccepted. They dated for some months and so his family asked him to meet her because they thought that it was an important and serious relationship. One Saturday Peter arrived with her and he introducedher to them: “This is my girlfriend”. Everybody was surprised because they saw nobody was with him. “Where is she?”, they asked each other. They thought it was a joke. They tried to explained him thathe had gone alone and that the woman that he referred to didn’t exist. He denied it and refused their explanation. He was convinced that his “girlfriend” was real. His family took him to a doctor andpsycologist. He didn’t want to cooperate with him. Peter’s sister wanted to find a reason for his problem but his family thought he was lunatic and crazy and sent him away.
One afternoon, he wentto the same library. He found the beautiful woman he had met in the book and was very happy. He stammered and couldn’t talk when the woman asked him which book he wanted to read. She was real! She...
