Galapagos Summary

My riveting joyful moment; Galapagos
We often remember that one very joyful moment in our lives, that moment where you actually feel happy and know that it was meant to happen. Everyone has experienced these moments, and although they may not be long, it has happened. Two years ago when I was 13, my dad told me we were going to go on a trip, on a nature trip. It happened to be that we both lovenature so much and that we both loved tortoises. So, he said we were going to the Galapagos Islands, home to the biggest tortoises on earth. Since that day, I started to count the days left until the trip.
The day finally came, and I felt the excitement already. I had already my bags done a week before the trip for all the excitement I had. We had to leave on Semana Santa, so that way Iwouldn’t lose so many school days. So, on a Friday night we said bye to the family and departed from home. On the way to the airport I was trying to imagine what the Galapagos Islands would be like, I imagined some beautiful land surrounded by trees and nature everywhere! When we finally got to the airport and did our check-in, we waited until the plain arrived. I was already so anxious and nervous; I hadnever thought I was going to go to the home of giant tortoises! Finally, the airplane came and they were calling for our plane on the speakers. Already on board we waited and slept through the night. The next thing I knew was waking up to the sound of the captain saying we were half an hour away from our destination. I tried opening my eyes, at the beginning I couldn’t open them from all thelight coming from outside, it was already morning! Finally, I got to open my eyes and noticed my dad was still sleeping. Since I was at the window seat I got to see the most beautiful landscape I’ve seen in my life. It was a huge island with a huge forest in the middle, some mountains and of course, surrounded by beaches! Then, there were all the smaller islands surrounding the main one.
When theplain finally landed, the day seemed perfect; I never thought anything bad would happen that same day. However, as my and I went to pick up our luggage, mine didn’t appear. We waited there, when my dad’s bag came, we kept waiting, when we realized we were the only ones who were still waiting for their belongings. As soon as we noticed this, we went directly to complain to the people in charge. Theysaid that they had LOST my bag. It was then when I realized that my day could be worse. We left my dad’s phone number and took the taxi that was waiting for us directly to our hotel.
As soon as we got to the hotel, we took the bags we had inside and registered. Since it was still morning there, we decided to leave the bags we still possessed in the room and go out to shop. We bought moreclothes for me to use while LAN figured out where my bag was. It was already getting late, and we were still at the mall, so we decided to go back to the hotel room. We were way too tired to go out for lunch, therefore we ordered room service.
Next day, my dad woke me up very early, telling me that we had reservations to go on a one hour ride to the beach and then on a boat to another island, whereinhabited the biggest turtles. So we took the hotels breakfast and departed to the beach right away. I remember he road being bumpy and going in a 4X4 car, that way the wheels wouldn’t pop right away. One hour seemed so long while I was so anxious and happy. Finally when we got to the beach I was the first one of the 4X4 and into the sand. When all the people who came to do the tour finally gotthere, we went aboard the boat and departed to one of the smaller islands. At first, I couldn’t really see where we were going, however as we got farther and farther away from the mail land, we could start seeing some land far, far away. Finally after more than an hour in the boat we reached our target. When we got off the boat, the island didn’t seem much different from the main one we had...
