1- THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GENDER AND SEX: When we talk about the physical and biological characteristics of our body we are talking about sex and when we talk about: values, beliefs and cultural behaviors in men and women, we are talking about gender.

we are born with a defined sex while the gender is learned and it can change through time and between different cultures.

In this waychildren learn values, beliefs and cultural behaviors in theirs families and so gender differences are product of the socialization.

3- In Costa Rica for all people who work, 54% are men and 46% are women.
19 percent of employed women work part-time, in order to spend more time with their families.
4- More Women tan men work for example in: education, healthcare, and office work.Women tend to be social workers and legal assistants, teachers, nurses, speech pathologists and housekeepers.
5- More men than women work for example in: mining, construction, transport services, agriculture, work related to Informatics and Mathematics, engineering and architecture.
Men tend to be chief executives, firefighters, police officers and electricians.
6- Professional death
Mostprofessionals deaths occur among men.
The industries in which most deaths occur are: mining, construction and fishing, these industries tend to employ more men than women due to physical demands.
7- Average of life
In Costa Rica the average of life for men is 76 years and for women is 81 years.
Women live longer than men, but with worst health conditions. This means that more women get sick and agefaster.
One reason is that they smoke less and drink less alcohol, although this may change in future, because now women tend to smoke and drink more than before.

8- Suicide
Men commit suicide, women attempt it
there are more male deaths than female deaths through suicide.
however women tend to attempt suicide more often than men.
the reason is that men tend to use more lethal methods thanwomen.
Another reason is that women tend to hurt themselves to get attention, while men when they decide it is because they really want to end their lives.
9- crime
there are more men than women imprisoned for crimes
men tend to kill more than women.
Also men are more inclined to be victims of violent crimes that the women.
10- VIOLENCE IN TRANSIT
According to Studies men tend to have morecar accidents. Of the total deaths in traffic accidents, 75% are men and 25% are women, because women are more prudent, they avoid aggressive behaviors and they worry about the possibility of an accident more than men.
11- Aggression
Men are more aggressive than females and usually they express their anger with physical hits.
However, females are aggressive too, but they tend to show theiraggression with less physical manifestations. For example, females tend to use more verbal aggression.
In Costa Rica 58% of women have been victims of domestic violence psychological, sexual or physical.
12- communication
* Men tend to talk more than women in public situations, but women tend to talk more than men at home.
* Women tend to talk too much about one topic, but men tend to jump fromone topic to another.
13- * Women tend to see each other face to face and they make eye contact when talking, while it is more probable that men look away from each other.
* Women make more noises such as "mm-hmm" and "uh" when they are listening, while men tend to listen in silence.
* Women tend to express agreement and support, while men tend to debate.
14- Using Internet: Men use theInternet more than women
Men spend more time online while women use more cell phone and email to talk with friends and family.
1. Men believe more in virtual relationships, they believe it is possible to take an online relationship, while few women think that way.
2. Women tend to be victims of fraud online than men.
