the Great Wall of China is an ancient Chinese fortification built and rebuilt between the sixteenth century to protect the northern borderof the Chinese empire during the successive imperial dynasties of the attacks of the nomadic Xiongnu of Mongolia.
it is estimated that theGreat Wall is about 21 kilometers long, from the Korean border at the Yalu River border to the Gobi Desert along an arc that roughlydelineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. The average is 6 to 7 meters high and 4 to 5 meters wide
The wall was named a World Heritage Siteby UNESCO. Much of the Great Wall is reputed to be the largest cemetery in the world. Approximately 10 million workers died duringconstruction. They were not buried in the wall itself, but sercas of the Great Wall of China. But it became something much bigger an architecturalgem of great majesty, was also announced that the Great Wall of China was selected as a winner in the list of New Seven Wonders of the ModernWorld
