Chapter 19 What does she look like?

To describe appearances the verbs “to be” and “to have” are used. To be is used with adjectives that describe the general appearance of someone. To have is used to describe body parts, hair, clothes, etc.

Who is who?

We use participles and prepositions to indicate a specific person.

He’s the man/one wearing a green shirt.
She’s the woman/one talking to the parrot.

John is the tall man/one next to the pool.
They’re thepeople/ones wearing black hats.

They are also used to join phrases.
Ex. John is the young man. He is wearing a black striped shirt.
John is the young man wearing a black striped shirt.

We use the present perfect to talkabout events that have or have not happened in the past. We use the verb “to have” like “haber” and past participles.

We use already and yet to describe if actions have been completed or not.

already (+) = ya between have and participle ex. I have already eaten lunch.
yet (?) = yaat the end of the phrase ex. Have you eaten lunch yet?
not yet = aun no not with have, yet at end ex. I haven’t eaten lunch yet.

Use yet or already in the phrase.
