“The Guy in the Glass” Analysis
I think “The Guy in the Glass” is very reflexive, about the guy inside us. You need to look inside you and see ifyou are doing it good or what you really want to achieve, or something bad and useless. If you are doing what you’re doing for other people satisfaction or happiness, and isn’t the way you normallydecide and think, you’re doing something wrong. You’re need to be honest with yourself and make the things you think are right, and make that guy in the glass happy. You’re your own judge of thedecisions you make and take, not your family, your friends or your teachers and other adults,
because finally you are that guy in the glass. Some people says that the most difficult test is acceptingyourself and know who you are and what you want to be. Sometimes you act that the others act , I think is because you want to be accepted by your “friends” or other people. One day I watch a movie in myhouse, the movie was called “Forever Strong”, and it’s about a player of rugby, who was taking bad decisions, he crash in his car and go to jail. In jail, they give the opportunity to play in the rivalteam of his past team. I will never forget a phrase by coach of the new team in that movie, “don’t do anything that embarrass you, embarrass your family, or your team”, that’s the guy in the glassmain idea, do what you believe is good, you have some experiences that can support you decision.
The destiny is in your hands, your life and future will decide by you. I think this poem it’s veryreflexive, and is the kind of poem you will need in those moments when you need to decide something, and everybody tells their opinions, but you are the final writer of your life.
