California State University, NorthridgeThe study of Expenditure on Children by Families done by Mark Lino is mainly to see an estimate of how much money parents spend on the year of 2011. The results fromthis should be of use in developing State Child support and foster care guidelines, as well as in family educational programs. My group and I are only focusing in the expenditure of education and howthat impacts the family. The study was conducted with parents categorized as husband-wife and single-parent families and Lino only emphasized on children from birth to age 17.

Having thisinformation in mind we will start the class with a quick write introducing our presentation. The quick write will be based on deciding if they would put their children in a private or public school.Would they spend more money to put them in a better school, why or why not? We will then be discussing about what education expenses really are. For example, baby-sitting, elementary and high schooltuitions, books, supplies and fees for private or public school. The questions that we will be asking would be why they would baby-sitting in this category or what else can fall in the baby-sittingcategory. For example, my group said that it can fall in after school programs that can either be free, tutoring or day care for children under 5 years old.

Since the study was focused only at theage from birth to age 17. We would ask our peers why this important factor is necessary. Our opinion towards these questions is that as children start becoming young adults or adults they would startseparating from their families.
