How To Overcome Culturalshock
I lived in Ciudad Juarez for 10 years. The city is right across the border from El PasoTexas. The cultural exchange between border cities is tremendous. Holidays, traditions, and values, just to name a few, are the reason why peoplein the border are less affected by the cultural differences.
Another way to overcome cultural shock is by visiting family or as a tourist. I have alot of family in the United States. I had the experience to visit them when I was younger and learnt from my family how they lived. In addition, Itravel to different cities and during those trips you can open your eyes to a different world.
Finally, if living in a border city or visitingfamily/touring the country is not an option. The only other way to overcome the cultural shock is to keep an open mind. You have to be able to respectand try to learn the new environment. Interact and have a positive attitude!
In conclusion, exploring the country is the best way to overcome thecultural shock. Visiting different places and keeping an open mind, will help you to adapt better. After all, we are all visitors here… Aren´t we?
