Today I am here, at this very point to talk about one thing and one thing only, bullfights. Perhaps surprisingly in the 21rst century, these barbaric shows still exist in severalcountries of the world, much to our shame.

Nevertheless, they still exist due to the powerful forces that support them. These forces maintain this bloody business for profit, at the cost of animals’pain, torment and death. They have the support of national and local governments, and receive backing from financial enterprises keen to promote their brands as having a "cultural" flavor, and from thefashion media who like to display "chic" images, regardless of the suffering involved.

Despite the increase in public awareness in recent years, this minority continues to get rich by torturing bullsand horses. Several attempts to expand their dirty business to other countries are well known. Charitable bullfights to raise money for starving children of third world countries, and to fundresearch into serious diseases, and many other things, are blatant attempts to popularize their "sport" and give it a veneer of respectability.

How can human beings enjoy watching an animal being stabbedin the back several times causing a big amount of blood to flow out of his body? After the bull has been completely weakened they take the body to the back where they cut the bull’s throat to get thehead of, while the bull is still alive. Go ask some people that like these “shows”, why they like them so much. Once I heard someone say: “the type of bull they use for that are a raze that is verydangerous as they have quite a temper”, so if someone has a “temper”, people have a right to kill them? NO. When I was little and I lived in Cali, my house was near the “Plaza de Toros” and almost everyweekend I saw different bulls being taken there, knowing that they were never going to go back out alive.
