The industry is expected to reach a size of 344,921 crore (US$75.88 billion) by 2012 at a growth rateof over 26 per cent, and generate employment opportunities for about 10 million people during the same period. According to analysts, the sector would create direct employment for 2.8 million people and for 7 million indirectly. The total revenue of the Indian telecom sector grew by 7% to 283,207 crore (US$62.31 billion) for 2010-11 financial year, while revenues from telecom equipment segmentstood at 117,039 crore (US$25.75 billion).
With the second largest population in the world India has 515 over-the-air and satellite television channels, it fosters the dissemination of knowledge and entertainment in all sectors of society, striking a careful balance between public interest and commercial needs in its delivery of services. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is the highestbody for formulation and administration of the rules, regulations and laws relating to information, broadcasting, the press and films. The ministry is responsible for international cooperation in the field of mass media, films and broadcasting, and interacts with its foreign counterparts on behalf of Government of India; Hindi television channels have the highest market share and are availablethroughout the country. In addition to that, numerous regional channels are available for selective regions.

The economic ague of India is being built over unsolid bases. Goverment knows its Achilles heel, damaged roads, scarcity of paths, bridges, ports, airfields, drinkable water and an inadequate transport networks. If products con not arrive to the global economy, it will not be conquered.
