Podemos definir la influencia social como, los procesos mediante los cuales las personas influyen de manera directa o indirecta sobre los pensamientos, sentimientos y conducta de otros.
La influencia social está estrechamente ligada al poder, y por lo tanto al control social.
El reconocimiento de la innovación producida por las minorías activas ha representado un giro enla concepción sobre los procesos de influencia social, ya que nos hicieron ver que la influencia social no solo es responsable del control social sino también de los cambios sociales (Moscovici, 1981).
