Module 2 Activity – Connect to Team Foundation Server 2010
In this activity you will login to your local machine, setup your user credentials, verify connectivity to the shared Team FoundationServer, download and review the solution.
Task 1: login to the host computer
In this task you will login to the host computer, making a note of the user name and password.

1. Log on to the physicalcomputer (the host) using the correct user name and password.

2. If you are using a VirtualMachine (VM), go to Task 2.
3. If you are NOT using a Virtual Machine (VM), go to Task 3.
Task 2: launch the VM, and login to the guest computer
In this task you launch the virtual machine, and thenlogin to the guest computer.

1. Start your Virtual Machine.

It will take a few moments for your virtual machine (guest) to start. The screens being displayed will resemble a physical computerbeing booted up. In order to maximize the memory allocated to the course image, don’t run any other applications or services on the host computer.

2. Using the above keyboard shortcut, bring up the login window.

3. Login to the VM asStudent with a password of password.

Note: the password is all lower case. After a few moments you will be logged in to Windows.

4. Switch the VM to full screen.

You can do this through theAction menu of Virtual PC, or using the keyboard shortcut identified above. Repeat the action to return from full screen.
