IP Addresses MAC
An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique identification number assigned to each computer, printer, or other device that is connected to the Internet. Each IP address consistsof four sets of numbers, separated by dots. All Wellesley IP addresses appear as 149.130.xxx.xxx, with the final digits being variable. This page contains instructions for checking the IP address of acomputer running Macintosh OS 9/X, as well as for renewing the IP address in the event of network connectivity issues.

Checking an IP Address on Macintosh OS X v. 10.3
1. From the apple menu,select System Preferences and click on the Network control panel.
2. From the Show pull-down menu, select Built-in Ethernet and click on the TCP/IP tab.
3. If the IP Address reads 149.130.xxx.xxx, thenit is a valid Wellesley IP address.

Checking an IP address on Macintosh OS X v. 10.2
1. From the apple menu, select System Preferences and click on the Network control panel.
2. From the Showpull-down menu, select Built-in Ethernet and click on the TCP/IP tab.
3. If the IP Address reads 149.130.xxx.xxx, then it is a valid Wellesley IP address.

* From the Finder,under Applications -> Utilities launch Network Utility. Select the correct ethernet interface. Information and utilities are available from the tabs above.

*Open Control Panel and click to open TCP/IP. Select the correct ethernet interface in the "Connect via:" pull down menu.
