The use of already and yet
(el uso de already y yet)
"already" (ya) = se usa en oraciones positivas e interrogativas para expresar que una acción ya ha ocurrido o que ya se lleva o llevo a cabo.
Ex:
It is already noon and they haven´t come.
I have already eaten.
Has the class already begun?.
I already did what you asked me to.
"yet" (todavía, aun) = se usa en oraciones negativas einterrogativas para expresar que una acción todavía no ha ocurrido o aun no ha pasado.   En algunas ocasiones se usa en fases afirmativas, con significado de "aun o todavía".
Ex:
There are lots of things that you have yet to experience.
Have the classes begun yet?.    R = no, not yet.
They arenot here yet.
He hasn´t eaten yet.
Have you already done your work?.
R = yes, I already have done it.Or  r = no, i haven´t done it yet.
Complete these sentences:
1) has the class __________ begun?.
2) i ___________ did what you asked me to.
3) they arenot here _______.
4) he hasn´t eaten _________.
5) there are lots of things that you have ________ to experience
Pasado Simple - (Simple Past Tense)
El Pasado Simple es un tiempo verbal que se utiliza para describir acciones que han sucedidoen un tiempo anterior y que ya han finalizado, por ejemplo:
She cleaned her house. Ella limpió su casa.
I broke the window. Yo rompí la ventana.
Aquí vemos su conjugación que en el español equivale al Pretérito Indefinido. Observa que la estructura de la oración es similar a la del Presente Simple:

Tanto en la forma interrogativa como en negativa se utiliza como auxiliar DID que es la formapasada del verbo "TO DO" y acompaña al verbo principal en su forma infinitiva. En las negaciones puede utilizarse la forma contraída de DID NOT o sea DIDN'T. En el cuadro superior se emplea el verbo To Play (Jugar) a modo de ejemplo.
Al expresar una oración en Pasado Simple se entiende que la acción no guarda relación con el presente, como vemos en los siguientes casos:
He lost the keys. Élperdió las llaves.
(Puede que en el presente las haya encontrado).

She lent me a book. Ella me prestó un libro.
(Puede que ya se lo haya devuelto).
También es posible indicar el momento en que se desarrolla la acción para indicar el tiempo con mayor precisión:
They saw the movie last night. Ellos vieron la película anoche.
We went to London yesterday. Nosotros fuimos a Londres ayer.

Parapoder formar una oración en tiempo pasado debemos distinguir dos tipos: VERBOS REGULARES y VERBOS IRREGULARES.

En el primero de los casos forman su Pasado Simple añadiendo la terminación ED al infinitivo, mientras que los irregulares reciben ese nombre por no seguir un patrón determinado y en este caso deben estudiarse individualmente.
Past Perfect Tense
(I had done)

EXAMPLES
1. When I got home my parents had just left.
2. When I met him he was 24. He had been in the States for 10 years (since he was 14fourteen).
3. The airline had lost my suitcase so I had to borrow clothes from a friend.
4. We met him in Austin in 1998. We had last visited him five years before.
5. She had just prepared dinner when her husband called and said that he would be late.
6. We had never seen such beautiful white beaches before we went to Australia.
7. When he had gone, I went back into thehouse.
8. We thought we had seen the last of raindrops falling, when another downpour began.
9. The grin had left his face and he was staring at his girlfriend.
10. They didn't want to leave until they had seen all the paintings.
11. If I had known her address, I would have visited her.
12. She saw footprints and realized that someone had been in the garden.
