1. ADJETIVOS
Los adjetivos califican a nombres o pronombres. En inglés no cambian ni en género ni en número y siempre van colocados delante del nombre alque califican. 1 sílaba terminado en vocal + consonante • Hot • Big Dobla la consonante y añade –ER THAN • Hotter than • Bigger than THE + ADJ + doble consonante + EST • The hottest • The biggest
2.COMPARACIONES
Existen varios tipos de comparaciones: 2.1. Igualdad: Se utiliza para decir que dos cosas son iguales. Se forma usando la estructura as + adjetivo + as • My car is as new as your carpara decir que dos cosas no son iguales se utiliza la estructura not as + adjetivo + as • My hair is not as dark as your hair 2.2. Superioridad e Inferioridad: Se utiliza para decir que algo tiene más omenos de una cualidad que otra cosa. Se forma usando las estructuras adjetivo + er + than • She is happier than you more / less + adjetivo + than • This car is more expensive than that one 2.3.Superlativo: Se utiliza para comparar tres cosas o más. Se forma usando las estructuras the + adjetivo + est (of / in) • You are the tallest of the class the most / the least + adjetivo (of / in) • It isthe most important city in the country * Si la comparación se hace entre una cosa y las demás pertenecientes a su mismo grupo utilizamos la preposición “of” detrás del superlativo, pero si nosreferimos a un lugar utilizamos la preposición “in”.
