Hardware Configuration
The following connections will allow s/pdif to Monitor or TV,depending on product • DP to DP • DP to HDMI • HDMI to HDMI • DVI to HDMI ATI s/pdif-compatible chipset model • No additional s/pdif cable is required •For connection to the DVI-output, an ATI revision B (or later) DVI-HDMI adapter is required. Nvidia s/pdif-compatible chipset models • An s/pdif cable isrequired to connect s/pdif internal output from the mainboard (or audio card) to the input socket on the video card. Please take care not to connect toa spare fan power socket on the card.
Software Configuration for Windows 7 and Vista
The DP / HDMI audio can either be enabled in the audiosoftware panel or in the Windows audio setup. For Windows audio setup, Navigate to Start - Control Panel – Hardware and Sound – Sound. Select the requiredoutput device and click on `Set Default` :
To test speaker output, click `Configure`, then `Test` :

Software Configuration for Windows XP
The additional Windows XP ATI HDMI Audio driver is required to enable HDMI audio. Audio via DP is notavailable with XP. The HDMI audio can be enabled in the Windows audio setup : Start - Control Panel – Sound and Audio Devices – Audio – Defaul Device,and select the ATI HD Audio.
Windows XP Volume
Volume can be tested / adjusted by selecting Volume and moving the Speaker Volume slider.
