Nowadays, the world we live in is more globalized than decades ago. That means that people from every culture, country andreligion have been mixing in an easy way. However, it’s easy to observe that in the past few years there have been a lot of shows of animosity through wards people from a different culture. That’s whythe purpose of this essay is to detail the three steps to follow in order to maintain a good relationship with someone from a different culture.
First of all, always try to avoid uncomfortablesituations for the foreign person. For example, if that person is living in your house, try to slowly explain or teach him your daily routine and the costumes of your city so he or she don’t get surprisedor shocked all of the sudden. In addition, don’t ever force that foreign person to try out food or drinks of your culture if he doesn’t want to. In other words, try to make his stay more pleasant andeasy.
Second, don’t ask too much about delicate subjects like his religion and race. For a foreign, it may be difficult to discuss his religion with someone that belongs to a different culture,especially if you don’t know each other for too long. Besides, religion is a complex subject to talk about and if you do, you may hurt his sensibility without even knowing. Also, don’t ask questions abouthis race, it’s not only of bad taste to do it but it may also be considered as an offense.
Finally, always try to be open mind and remain friendly. If the foreign person has radical believes aboutreligion or a particular country that you don’t share, try to nicely tell him that you may not agree with his believes, but that you respect those as you wish that he respect yours.
