Looking fashion through the eyes of music
Through the decades (60s, 70s, 80s, 90s), fashion has suffered dramatic but interesting changes, that were taking by most of the people, and the bigresponsible of that was music.
People want to show others, the types of music that hear, their favorite singers, bands, and a good form to express that felling is through the clothes that you wear.
Ifwe look back to the 60s, the hippie era was in boom, and for people were very important the free expression and do wherever they felt; the big partner of that “scream of freedom” was music; artistslike Jimmy Hendrix influenced a lot with his music, to the point that people got more interesting in his clothing and started to incorporated this kid of style (Pocahontas headband, chain belts, boots,leather vests, anything with fringe) to their own lives.
For other side, some people got for an eccentric and colorful look, inspired by Elvis Presley and his wild hairstyle.
Then, the Beatlesappeared, and with them a different type of fashion came too; people wanted to look like one of the Beatles, so they started to wear formal clothes, like suits and piped pants. Men began to wear hishair a little bit longer.
But, all these different fashion styles, would be replaced for a completely type of fashion. When the 80s appeared, this wild and crazy decade, changed a lot the sense offashion. Music icons like Madonna and Michael Jackson, had a striking but original style, that became to influence people’s wardrobe; clothes and accessories like leggings, lingerie as outerwear,mesh shirts, gloves, mini skirts, jeans to waist, fishnet stockings white knee socks, piped pants, bangles, big earrings etc… were wore for people, inspired in the most biggest pop music artists of thatmoment.
But not just pop genre created a unique style, rock genre did it too; Bands like Guns and Roses, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella, Motley Crüe and Quiet...
