Legalization of Marijuana

One of US most debatable issue is whether or not they should legalize marijuana. I believe that they should legalize marijuana or if they don’t then they shouldmake all smoking items such as cigarettes, cigars and, pipes illegal. I strongly believe this because marijuana has been proven to work effectively in the medical world. It would help the governmentmake money that can be use to help benefit the people who actually need their assistance.
I believe that if they can’t legalize marijuana then other smoking items should be illegal because theyare actually proven to have a harmful effect on the human body. Legal smoking items under the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) have to have a general surgeon warning on them that states the effectthat it has on your body. Cigarettes have been proven to be one of the causes of cancerous tumors that develop in the lungs. The 1982 United States Surgeon General's report stated that "Cigarettesmoking is the major single cause of cancer mortality in the United States." It is the cause for thirty percent of cancer deaths, so the statement of above still lives truer in the United States. Notonly should cigarettes be illegal then but also cigars because smoking as little as one cigar per day can increase the risk of several cancers, including cancer of the oral cavity (lip, tongue,mouth, and throat), esophagus, larynx, and lung. Cigar smoking may be linked to cancer of the pancreas as well. The effect of smoking marijuana is not as extreme as the one state above at the time ofconsumptions your reflexes and brain is not functioning up to its capability that it once was but once it wears of you usually are back to your normal self and is less addicting then tobacco product.Marijuana also known as weed should be legalized because the US would and could earn money on it by implying a tax just as they do other smoking items.
