Trabajo: The Emperor’s New Clothes

Please, read The emperor’s new clothes story and think about how you would use it with your students and analyze it. Please, answer thesequestions:

1. Is the thematic structure the typical one for children stories? Why?
2. How is the language used?
3. Can children empathize with the main characters? Why?
4. Is the plot easy to follow?5. Are the values appropriate?
6. Is grammar and vocabulary appropriate for primary children? If yes, which level?
7. How would you explain new vocabulary?
8. What activities would you use toexploit the story?

1-Is the thematic structure the typical one for children stories? Why?

Sí. Ya que la historia cuenta con una introducción, se presentan los personajes como el emperador o los dos “canallas”. En elcuento realmente no explica donde transcurre la historia, pero se sobre entiende que transcurre en un pueblo/ ciudad, pero sobretodo en el palacio o la casa del emperador.
Se analiza el problema de lahistoria, en este caso la vanidad del emperador, por el cual se desarrollan una serie de acontecimientos.
Finalmente se soluciona el problema gracias a la inocencia de un niño que hacer ver a losdemás que siempre es bueno decir la verdad por encima de lo que piensen los demás, de ahí la moraleja.

2- How is the language used?

El texto es una narración, con vocabulario muy rico. Como elcuento es para niños mas mayores no hay mucha repetición de palabras pero si que recalca vez en cuanto algunas.

3- Can children empathize with the main characters? Why?

Yo creo que los alumnos...
